About the job

We are looking for an experienced volunteer who can take the lead in strengthening our charity's marketing, PR fundraising and online presence. Our charity supports a school and medical centre in rural SW Uganda, enabling 500 children to receive an education they could not normally afford. What difference will you make? Your knowledge, creativity, and guidance could help us tell our story more effectively, reach new supporters, increase vital fundraising, and build a stronger, more sustainable future for our charity. Ultimately, your contribution will help transform the lives of hundreds more underprivilages children and their families in rural Uganda over many years to come. You will help to enable them to access education, healthcare, and opportunities to build brighter futures. What are we looking for? We are looking for someone with experience in marketing, communications, PR, or digital fundraising who is enthusiastic about using their skills to make a real difference. You should be confident in developing and implementing social media and digital marketing strategies, creating engaging content, and identifying opportunities to increase awareness and support for our charity. Experience of online fundraising campaigns, email marketing, or working with websites would be an advantage, but the most important qualities are creativity, initiative, and a willingness to share your knowledge with others. As we are a small volunteer-led charity, we're looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is happy to work independently, and is able to communicate clearly with a team of dedicated volunteers. We hope to build a long-term relationship with one or more new volunteers who are committed to helping us grow our profile, strengthen our fundraising, and support the continued development of our volunteer team. Above all, we're looking for someone who shares our passion for improving the lives of disadvantaged children and their families in rural Uganda and who wants to use their professional skills to create lasting social impact. Remote What will you be doing? Volunteer Marketing & PR Lead (Remote) We are looking for a passionate and experienced volunteer to help strengthen our marketing, communications, and fundraising activities. Skills And Experience We're Looking For

  • Social media marketing across all major platforms
  • Digital marketing and online fundraising

  • Working collaboratively with volunteers and small teams The role This is a flexible, primarily remote role with occasional online meetings. Your expertise will play a vital role in helping us increase our visibility, engage new supporters, grow our fundraising, and share the impact of our work. About Us We are a small, established charity based in Shepperton, that has been supporting a disadvantaged rural community in rural Uganda for over 15 years. During that time, we have helped the local NGO build a school, a medical centre, vocational training workshops, and other essential community facilities. Many of our past volunteers have chosen to take a low-cost 'Holiday with a Difference' and travel out to Uganda to meet with the children they are supporting. (This is of course at their own expense) We are now working closely with our Ugandan partners to make the project increasingly self-sustaining, particularly through coffee cultivation. While this is a promising initiative, it is still in its early stages, and our school will continue to rely on international fundraising for several years to come. The difference you could make By helping us improve our marketing and communications, you will enable us to
  • Reach new audiences and supporters
  • Increase online engagement and donations
