Company Description Advanced Studies in England (ASE) is a study abroad program located in the historic city of Bath, welcoming undergraduate students from U.S. colleges for semester, year-long, and summer study. ASE offers small seminar-style courses across disciplines including English, Creative Writing, Theatre and Film, Social and Political Science, and History, often complemented by internships or one-on-one tutorials, many with partners at Oxford University. Students live in historic townhouses and apartments within the city, enjoying a vibrant academic community in a picturesque setting. A rich social and cultural program supports students' integration into the local community and provides a distinctive, immersive study abroad experience. Faculty members join a collegial team committed to rigorous scholarship, close student engagement, and cross-cultural learning. Role Description Due to the unexpected withdrawal of a member of our faculty, we have urgent need for a Lecturer in Politics. This is a part-time contract teaching two classes on a Tuesday at our study centre in central Bath. Responsibilities include: delivering two seminar classes each week both on the subject of the UK political system; one is to a third year group (of 4 students), the other to a first-year group (of eight stduents), marking assessed work. Full admin support will be provided. The lecturer will collaborate with colleagues and staff to support student wellbeing, intercultural engagement, and the academic quality of ASE's Politics offerings. Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in Politics, International Relations, or related Social/Political Science fields; a relevant postgraduate degree (Master's or PhD) is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and to contribute to program initiatives, co-curricular activities, and community engagement.
  • Some understanding of U.S. higher education expectations and experience with study abroad or international education is an advantage.
  • Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and the promotion of global citizenship and cross-cultural understanding.
