Company Description Trossachs Radio CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company established during the COVID epidemic to address the lack of a dedicated radio station in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park area. The station serves local residents and visitors by providing up-to-date news, travel, and weather information tailored to the region. It plays a central role in promoting local charitable and community events, ensuring they reach a broad audience. Programming is created by and for the local community, with a focus on inclusive, relevant, and engaging content. As a community-focused broadcaster, Trossachs Radio offers volunteers the chance to contribute meaningfully to local life and regional identity. Role Description The Senior Business Development Manager is a freelance, commission based, on-site role based in Callander, responsible for expanding the station's reach, partnerships, and revenue opportunities to support its community mission. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and cultivating relationships with local businesses, charities, and tourism organisations, developing sponsorship and advertising packages, and managing key stakeholder accounts. The role also involves creating and implementing business development plans, tracking performance against targets, and reporting on progress to the leadership team. This person will collaborate closely with programming, marketing, and operations volunteers to align commercial activities with community values and regulatory requirements. The Senior Business Development Manager will help shape long-term strategic initiatives that strengthen the station's financial sustainability while maintaining its not-for-profit ethos. Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, ideally within media, nonprofit, or local enterprise environments.
  • Strong skills in relationship building, stakeholder engagement, and networking, with the ability to represent the station professionally in the local community.
  • Ability to develop and negotiate sponsorships, advertising agreements, and collaborative projects that align with community interests and organizational values.
  • Competence in planning, budgeting, and performance tracking, including basic financial literacy and comfort working with targets and timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to prepare clear proposals, presentations, and reports.
  • Organisational and time-management skills to coordinate multiple initiatives and work effectively in a small, volunteer-driven team.
  • Comfort working in an on-site community setting in Callander, with a hands-on, flexible approach to supporting wider station activities when needed.
  • Understanding of or interest in community broadcasting, local tourism, and regional events; knowledge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs area is an advantage.
  • Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and to the mission of a not-for-profit Community Interest Company.
  • Previous leadership or senior volunteer experience is beneficial, though candidates can gain experience with the Company.
