Volunteer Mentor - Criminal Justice

It's often overwhelming for the people we support to make changes in their lives. You can help by donating your time as a Volunteer Mentor in the Criminal Justice Team With this role you'll be working as part of the Criminal Justice team, based in Camden. The team supports people who need support with drug and alcohol problems, and are also involved in the criminal justice system. In this role you will be supporting the people who use our services by offering them one-to-one support, and supporting the team with co-facilitating groups and activities. Whether you're talking about goals in a coffee shop, or researching job opportunities together in a library no two sessions will be the same. We treat everyone as individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. Helping people to take that next step can be a challenge, so in return for your time we will offer you comprehensive training and will ensure that you have someone at the other end of the phone for day-to-day advice and guidance. We will also make sure you have a named supervisor, who you will meet up with regularly. By volunteering with us you will gain valuable experience and skills, as well as making a real difference. This is what one of our Volunteer Mentors/people who use our service had to say (use quotes from your service) “I like the team spirit, that we all bring something different and we always put the people who use our service first”. Or “Seeing people move in their treatment journey and seeing a zest in life coming back in their lives is so rewarding”. Or from a service user “ Me and my key worker get on really well and this benefits me, coming to Change Grow Live gives me stability”.
