This is not a generalist People Partner role. Employee Relations will be at the heart of what you do. You'll need to be confident dealing with difficult situations, challenging constructively when needed and balancing employment law and ER risk with the realities of a busy operational business. We're particularly interested in someone who can look beyond simply following a process – someone who asks the right questions, gets into the detail, understands the risks and uses sound judgement to help managers reach sensible and fair outcomes. What we're looking for
- Strong experience managing complex Employee Relations cases
- Demonstrable experience managing a high-volume ER caseload from start to finish
- Good practical knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience with disciplinaries, grievances and workplace investigations
- Confidence advising and challenging managers and senior stakeholders
- Strong written communication and case management skills
- A pragmatic, commercial and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to work at pace, prioritise effectively and take ownership
- Experience working within a large, multi-site organisation is highly desirable
- Experience within an outsourced, facilities management, service-led or client-facing environment would also be particularly useful. While the role is heavily focused on Employee Relations, there may occasionally be a requirement to undertake other HR duties to support the wider People team and business as required. 📍 Location: London 💷 Salary: £40,000–£42,000 per annum 🏢 Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office Please note that the three office days per week are a requirement of the role. Due to the operational nature of our business, there may also occasionally be a need to work outside standard office hours, including early mornings or late evenings, depending on the circumstances of a particular case. There may also be a requirement to, on occasion carry out in person site visits or overnight stays. This won't be the normal working pattern, but we do need someone who can offer flexibility when required. Think you could be a great fit? You may have read the requirements above and feel that this role is right for you, but perhaps you don't meet every element of the experience or qualifications we've listed. Please don't let that put you off applying. We recognise that great candidates don't always tick every box on a job description. We're interested in hearing from people who can demonstrate the right skills, approach, potential and passion for Employee Relations. If you believe you would be a great fit for this role, we'd encourage you to apply and include a cover letter explaining why you feel you're the right candidate, what you could bring to the role, and how your experience and transferable skills would enable you to succeed.
