Area Retail Manager - Leicester

🚗 Area Retail Manager - Leicester (Field Based) We're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Area Retail Manager to lead the performance of 16–22 company-owned, franchise operated forecourt stations across a defined region. This is a genuinely hands-on role where you'll be responsible for performance, customer experience and profitability across a significant multi-site operation. What you'll be responsible for

• Coach and develop Contract Managers and their teams across your region
• Drive sales, profitability and operational performance across 16–22 sites
• Own key commercial measures including fuel, shop and forecourt performance
• Ensure exceptional standards across health & safety, compliance and customer service
• Conduct regular station and fuel audits, identifying opportunities and managing risks
• Drive effective promotions, pricing, merchandising and product availability
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors and external partners
• Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial performance
• Manage customer complaints and ensure effective resolution
• Oversee training, development and compliance across the estate
• Coordinate maintenance and minimise equipment downtime
• Identify and implement initiatives that improve sales, efficiency and profitability What you'll bring
• Proven multi-site experience within forecourt, retail, grocery or convenience environment
• Experience of managing contractors, franchisees or independent operators is highly desirable
• Strong commercial and financial awareness
• Excellent coaching, communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to motivate people and drive accountability
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence working autonomously across a large geographical area
• A genuine appetite for improving performance and delivering results This is a field-based role
• Expect significant travel across your area, with occasional overnight stays.
