Assistant Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant looking to build a long-term career within a growing and progressive business. This is a hands-on role where you'll initially take ownership of key transactional finance processes, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations and day-to-day finance administration. But this is much more than a transactional position. The business is keen to find someone who is tech-savvy, curious and interested in improving how finance operates. A key focus will be identifying opportunities to use technology and automation to improve processes, particularly around purchase ledger, reduce manual work and make the finance function more efficient. As you develop your understanding of the business and demonstrate your capability, there will be genuine opportunities to progress into month-end, management accounts, reporting, analysis and broader accounting responsibilities. The successful candidate could be AAT qualified/studying, or early-stage ACCA/CIMA. You will possess strong Excel and confidence using finance systems. Xero experience is highly advantageous. You will be naturally curious about technology and process improvement, and have strong attention to detail and organisation. You will be comfortable getting stuck into transactional finance but be ambitious and keen to develop your career. This role offers genuine progression, but you will need to be comfortable building that progression from a strong foundation in purchase and sales ledger.
