Senior Project Manager – Digital Products Manchester Hybrid – Tuesday & Thursday in the office | Up to £70,000 Own £1m+ digital projects from discovery through to launch We have partnered with a business that is looking for a Senior Project Manager who is ready to take genuine ownership of high-value digital products and software projects. This is not a traditional internal IT Project Manager role. You'll be working directly with major clients, leading multidisciplinary teams across development, design, product, architecture and strategy, and taking responsibility for projects with approx £1m+ budgets. You'll be involved from the very beginning – helping shape scope, estimates and delivery approach – through to launch and completion. Along the way, you'll have real commercial ownership, senior client exposure and the opportunity to influence how complex digital products are delivered. The environment will particularly suit someone from a digital agency, consultancy or software/product business who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, clients and commercial delivery. Why this role?

  • £1m+ project ownership – take responsibility for high-value digital projects and their commercial performance.
  • Real client exposure – work directly with senior stakeholders and become a trusted delivery partner.
  • Digital products, not internal IT – deliver web, mobile and software products that are used by real customers.
  • End-to-end ownership – from discovery, scoping and estimation through to delivery and launch.
  • Commercial responsibility – own budgets, forecasts, burn rates, invoicing and Statements of Work.
  • Technical exposure – work closely with engineering and architecture teams and understand the technical decisions influencing delivery.
  • Varied client portfolio – work across different projects, technologies and industries rather than delivering the same type of project repeatedly.
  • Career development – an opportunity to grow within an established digital product and consultancy environment. What you'll be doing
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of £1m+ digital projects, from discovery and scoping through to launch.
  • Lead complex web, mobile and software product deliveries across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage project budgets, financial performance, forecasts, burn rates and invoicing.
  • Work directly with senior client stakeholders, managing expectations and building long-term relationships.
  • Translate client objectives into clear delivery plans, milestones and commercial outcomes.
  • Work closely with developers, Product Managers, Solution Architects, designers and strategists.
  • Understand technical architecture, integrations and constraints well enough to challenge assumptions and identify delivery risks.
  • Own scope, timelines, dependencies, resources and delivery plans.
  • Help improve delivery processes and ways of working across the business.
  • Experience managing scope, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies and change. What client looking for We're looking for someone who has already operated at a Senior Project Manager level within digital delivery. You'll ideally have:
  • 5+ years' Project Management experience in a digital agency, consultancy, software or product environment.
  • Proven experience personally managing £1m+ project budgets or programmes, including financial responsibility.
  • Strong experience delivering web and mobile projects – essential.
  • Experience delivering complex software products, digital platforms and/or integrations.
  • Strong client-facing experience, including senior stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing scope, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies and change.
  • The confidence to work closely with technical teams and engage in conversations around architecture, integrations and software delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery and modern software development lifecycles.
  • Commercial experience covering forecasting, burn rates, invoicing and Statements of Work.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence; Certinia would be beneficial. The type of person who will enjoy this role
  • Has moved from consultancy or previously worked beyond simply coordinating delivery and wants genuine ownership.
  • Enjoys working directly with clients and being accountable for outcomes.
  • Likes working on large, complex digital products from scratch rather than infrastructure or internal transformation projects.
  • Is comfortable being commercially accountable for significant budgets.
  • Wants variety, with different clients, products and delivery challenges.
  • Is commercially minded and enjoys solving problems
