DN12 Primary School | Full-Time | Maternity Cover | Paid to Scale from Week 12

Reed Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the DN12 area to cover a maternity leave.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that prides itself on the calm, positive, and nurturing environment it has created for both pupils and staff. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a small Year 5 class of just 16 pupils, with no low-level behavioural concerns, allowing teachers to focus on delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

The Role

• Full class teaching responsibility for a Year 5 class
• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
• Plan, assess and monitor pupil progress
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leaders to maintain high standards of teaching and learning

About You

The school is seeking an experienced teacher who:

• Has a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills
• Is committed to taking on full teaching responsibilities
• Can contribute to the calm and positive ethos of the school
• Is able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents

Start Date

The school would like the successful candidate to begin from October Half Term to allow for a thorough handover with the current class teacher. This will provide the opportunity to observe best practice, become familiar with the pupils, and ensure a smooth transition ahead of the maternity cover officially commencing from February Half Term.

Interview Process

There will be a formal interview and classroom observation process for this position, with interviews taking place over the coming weeks.

Pay

• Up to £170 per day initially
• Paid to scale from Week 12
