- Managing new client matters, including conflict checks and case file opening.
- Maintaining and updating the firm's Case Management System.
- Ensuring files remain compliant with Lexcel and Legal Aid requirements.
- Coordinating and managing busy diaries and appointments.
- Accessing and processing documents via Court and Legal Aid portals (full training provided).
- Managing dictated correspondence and ensuring accurate filing and document management.
- Monitoring Legal Aid Agency communications and liaising with fee earners regarding responses.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and external professionals, both over the phone and in person.
- Supporting reception duties during holiday and lunchtime cover.
- Welcoming visitors and clients, arranging meeting rooms, and ensuring a professional client experience.
- Providing occasional cover for the Department Head's PA, gaining exposure to the wider operational side of the business.
- Attending court alongside fee earners on occasion, offering valuable insight into legal proceedings.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within a Legal Secretary, Legal PA, or Administrative role.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with a professional and personable approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player who is happy to support colleagues when required.
