Regular travel to service locations across the area will be required, with frequent on-site presence expected. We are supporting a well-established, multi-site organisation operating across the South and South West of England to appoint an experienced HR Business Partner. This is a highly visible, operational HR role, working closely with senior and site-based leaders across a geographically dispersed portfolio. You will provide practical, commercially focused people advice, using workforce information, employee feedback and organisational insight to identify priorities and drive meaningful improvement. The role will suit an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the operation, building trusted relationships with leaders and turning people data into practical action. Key responsibilities
- Act as the HR Business Partner for an allocated portfolio of sites across the South and South West.
- Build strong, credible relationships with operational and senior leaders, acting as a trusted partner and constructive challenge.
- Maintain a strong site presence, normally spending at least two days per week working across the portfolio and increasing this where business needs require.
- Analyse workforce information, employee feedback and other people metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Work with leaders to develop focused people plans, with clear actions, ownership and measures of success.
- Support leaders in understanding and responding effectively to employee engagement and feedback.
- Identify recurring issues and organisational hotspots, working with leaders to address underlying causes rather than simply resolving individual symptoms.
- Provide additional support to sites experiencing people-related challenges, helping leaders stabilise the situation and establish sustainable improvements.
- Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capability and improve confidence in people management.
- Work collaboratively with specialist HR colleagues, ensuring appropriate escalation and handover of employee relations matters and that organisational learning is shared.
- Contribute to wider HR initiatives and projects across the organisation.
- Use insight from across the regional portfolio to identify opportunities for consistency, improved practice and better employee experience. About you We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can demonstrate:
- Strong generalist HR experience gained within an operational, customer-facing or multi-site environment.
- Experience of working as an HR Business Partner or in a similar strategic/operational HR role.
- Confidence partnering with senior and operational leaders and influencing decisions at all levels.
- A sound working knowledge of UK employment legislation and effective people management practice.
- The ability to interpret workforce data and translate information into clear, practical recommendations.
- Experience using employee feedback, engagement information and people metrics to identify priorities and measure improvement.
- Strong coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively when required.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the ability to build credibility quickly.
- The flexibility and willingness to travel regularly across a regional portfolio of sites.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Experience within large, multi-site environment would be advantageous, although applications from strong HR professionals from other operational sectors are welcomed. What the organisation offers This is an opportunity to join a growing and purpose-led organisation where HR plays a key role in supporting leaders, strengthening organisational capability and improving the experience of employees and the people they support. Interested? If you are an experienced HR professional looking for a visible, business-facing role where you can use your HR expertise, insight and influencing skills to make a tangible difference across a multi-site operation, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please note: This vacancy is being advertised on a confidential basis. Further information about the organisation and its operating environment will be shared with shortlisted candidates as part of the recruitment process.
