You will stay hands-on, advising on, drafting and completing work yourself, while running the department and developing the team. - Build strong relationships with the estate planning firms that introduce and instruct us.
- Help design the processes, systems and team the firm needs to scale.
- Lead the private client department, setting the standard for quality, turnaround and client service.
- Supervise, mentor and develop trainees and paralegals. Compliance and workload
- Act as the firm's COLP, ensuring compliance with the SRA Standards and Regulations.
- Manage the department's workload so matters keep moving and completed work is delivered on time. Technical work
- Advise on, draft and complete lifetime trusts, will trusts, declaration of trusts, deeds of variation and taxation of trusts.
- Conduct full estate administration and grant-only probate, including complex estates where an IHT400 is required.
- Prepare and manage Court of Protection deputyship applications.
- Act as the technical point of reference for colleagues and partner firms. Who we are looking for Mindset
- A business-orientated leader with an open mindset and a genuine appetite to build and grow a firm.
- An ambitious team player with a collaborative, long-term outlook.
- Strong commercial awareness to match your technical expertise.
- Supervisory experience, with the ability to mentor trainees and paralegals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Experience
- 7+ years' PQE as a Private Client Solicitor.
- Proven experience advising on and drafting lifetime trusts, will trusts and deeds of variation.
- A sound understanding of the taxation of trusts.
- Experience of full estate administration and grant-only probate, including IHT400 estates.
- Experience of Court of Protection deputyship applications.
- Able to meet the SRA's requirements for approval as COLP.
- Familiarity with case management systems and digital document platforms. Nationwide Law Limited is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA No. 8013914).
