Director of Operations
at AEQUILÂAbout AEQUIL® Over the last decade, Founder Frédéric Roscop and the AEQUIL® team have built a body of scientific research, proprietary know-how, consumer products, and real-world applications around one central idea: The Science of Balance. Today, AEQUIL® is developing an Intelligent Biophysics platform designed to support the foundational conditions from which living systems can regulate, adapt, and perform. We are now moving from a highly entrepreneurial, founder-led organization into the next stage: a disciplined, scalable organization capable of developing several significant commercial and scientific programs in parallel. The Role To make that transition successfully, we are looking for an exceptional Director of Operations to work across all of AEQUIL®, directly alongside our Founder and in close partnership with AEQUIL's scientific/R&D, financial, commercial and functional leadership. This is not a conventional operations role. It is not an executive-assistant role, a project-management role, or a position designed simply to administer what already exists. We are looking for the person who can take a complex and ambitious vision and make it happen. For the right person, the role has the potential to evolve towards a broader COO position as AEQUIL® grows. The Mission Execution & Coordination: Turn AEQUIL's vision, opportunities, and strategic decisions into clear, coordinated, and measurable execution across all of AEQUIL®. Create the operating discipline that allows AEQUIL® to move quickly without becoming chaotic. Business Development & Conversion: Actively drive AEQUIL's opportunity pipeline from first discussion through qualification, scientific and commercial assessment, POC, economics, agreement, and scale. Ensure opportunities do not remain just "interesting conversations." What You Will Be Responsible For: Founder-side execution: Translate strategic thinking into an executable operating plan, protecting the Founder's time from day-to-day coordination. Constructive challenge: Act as a trusted thought partner to pressure-test assumptions, identify risks, and robustify plans before resources are committed. The operating system: Establish and maintain one clear view of priorities, projects, owners, deadlines, budgets, risks, and decisions. Cross-functional integration: Connect R&D/Science, IP, Regulatory, Finance, Commercialization, Marketing, Grants, Logistics, and Manufacturing to ensure priorities move together. Execution rhythm & Milestone discipline: Create effective weekly and monthly operating rhythms so problems are surfaced early and decisions are based on evidence and commercial logic. Commercial & Regulatory judgement: Understand unit economics and ensure compliance/regulatory requirements are built into plans from the outset. Who We Are Looking For: Significant experience in operations, strategy, commercial execution, or a founder-side leadership role within a high-growth, innovation-led, or technically complex organization. Evidence that you have built operating systems and processes rather than merely inherited them. Strong commercial and financial judgement (understanding budgets, P&Ls, and unit economics). Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and capable of saying “no” or “not yet” when necessary. High emotional intelligence and the ability to work closely with a highly entrepreneurial Founder while partnering effectively with diverse specialists. Working Style & Requirements: Location: Anchored in London / Hybrid (approximately 2–3 days per week working closely alongside the Founder in London). Travel: International travel required for partner meetings, scientific programs, and industry events, with close collaboration with our team in France. Languages: Minimum CEFR C1 professional proficiency in both English and French is essential; C2 / native-level proficiency is desirable. How to Apply: Please submit your CV together with a short cover note explaining: Why this role? Why AEQUIL®? What makes you particularly effective at turning ambitious founder-led organizations into disciplined execution?
