Head of Information Technology

Head of IT - West Midlands - Leadership - Vendor Management - Strategic - Staekholder skills - Hybrid (3 days in office) - North of Birmingham - You MUST drive A Head of IT is required for a business based just North of Birmingham, to help drive their technology function forwards, both technically and from a people perspective. You will be coming in to head up a well established team that spans core Infrastructure and Service Delivery, Cyber Security, Data and Business Systems, some of which are a little leftfield but the principles of managing and leading them are the same! You will be leading of team of circa 14 people with a much smaller number of direct reports and you'll need to be close enough to the detail to be able to coach and support them, whilst not being "hands on" yourself necessarily. The business currently lea on a number of 3rd party suppliers and there is a desire to bring someone in that has dealt with major contracts previously and can get the best possible outcome in negotiating with vendors. You will have budget respionsibility for technology and you will also be working very closely with the COO to agree and put in place a new and updated Technology roadmap to deliver. A confident decision-maker and strong leader, the successful candidate will have the interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with teams across the whole organisation. You'll take ownership of results, performance and personal development, and bring initiative and a can-do attitude to the role. This role is not a keep the lights on role and will lead to areas of transformation post review of the current state. It also brings with it opportunites for the future as the business are part of a wider group, experience of working with parent companies or similar would also be good.
