About Young Futures Young Futures is a fast-growing nonprofit on a mission to help young people thrive in a tech-filled world. We fund and scale youth-focused charities and nonprofits through open-call funding challenges, storytelling, and community building. Over the next five years, we aim to support 500 charity and nonprofit leaders through our YF500 initiative, reach millions of youth and families, and shift the cultural conversation around adolescence in the digital age to a more optimistic and solutions-oriented place. Our brand is upbeat, vibrant, and youthful, designed to resonate with the adults who champion teens and preteens. The Role You'll be building Young Futures' UK presence from the ground up—adapting a proven model and working alongside a supportive, mission-driven team that takes the work seriously and ourselves a little less so.  You'll work closely with the Director to translate strategy into action. And where process doesn't exist yet, you'll be the one building it, with real latitude to shape how grantmaking and the Academy run in the UK. As a small, collaborative team, there will be opportunities to contribute across workstreams beyond what's outlined here for work in both the US and the UK. Key Responsibilities Grantmaking

  • Own the end-to-end grant cycle: RFP development, application design, applicant outreach and engagement, review process, grant disbursement, and post-grant reporting
  • Manage the review process and recommend finalists and award sizes to the Director for final award decisions
  • Direct coordination with reviewers, legal, and accounting—proactively communicating progress and flagging issues before they become blockers
  • Chair review committee operations: reviewer selection, scheduling, and serving as their primary point of contact
  • Build and maintain application and grantee reporting forms in Airtable; own data integrity throughout
  • Serve as the primary contact for the UK fiscal intermediary on day-to-day compliance, and ensure grant agreements and disbursements are processed swiftly, escalating anything strategic or contractual to the Director  Academy & YFI Community
  • Deliver the best possible Academy experience for UK-based YFIs, including curriculum adaptation and faculty recruitment support (scheduling, logistics, supplier coordination)
  • Support mentor recruitment and own the matching process, facilitating connections to YFIs
  • Execute the Academy schedule including facilitation of both in-person and virtual programming such as Peer Circles and Office Hours
  • Moderate and actively engage UK-based YFIs in Slack
  • Manage the Google Workspace curriculum site for UK-based YFIs
  • Own feedback and evaluation processes, including post-cycle surveys
  • Produce YF Academy assets including but not limited to: Academy Playbook, presentation decks
  • Coordinate with YF Studio on YFI storytelling  Admin & Cross-Functional
  • Own planning and execution of community events (e.g., in-person launch event, YFI retreats); support the Director of Partnerships on funder-facing convenings
  • Provide support for the UK-based Studio Fellow, in coordination with the Director of Creative Strategy
  • Support copy editing on YF materials and thought leadership
  • Support data collection and share with YF Intelligence Person Specification Essential
  • Strong project-management skills: comfortable owning complex, multi-stakeholder processes start to finish
  • Experience coordinating with external partners (legal, accounting, reviewers, fiscal intermediaries) and keeping everyone aligned
  • Familiarity with grant cycles or charity/nonprofit programme operations; UK charity/grantmaking context strongly preferred
  • Comfort in Airtable or equivalent for application and data management, with rigour around data integrity
  • Strong written communication skills: comfortable drafting materials for Director approval
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating group processes: peer learning circles, retreats, or cohort-based convenings, not just logistics for them
  • Comfort operating as the visible face of an organisation with external stakeholders and partners in the absence of the Director
  • Judgement to know what's a routine call versus what needs escalation, and the confidence to make that distinction unprompted
  • Ability to translate strategic direction into tactical execution with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, openness to feedback, and an orientation toward shared problem-solving Desirable
  • Existing relationships or familiarity with the UK youth/education/tech charity/nonprofit ecosystem
  • Entrepreneurial orientation; comfort building process where none exists yet, with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, follow through on details, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • A passion for youth wellbeing and strong interest in the discourse around AI, technology, startups, entrepreneurship, youth development, adolescent mental health, and systems-level change Supervision & Structure The UK Programme Manager will report primarily to the Director of Programs while coordinating closely with leadership across the organisation.
