Accountant

Position: Accountant Location: South Lanarkshire Working Hours: Monday–Thursday: 09:00–17:00, Friday: 09:00–12:00 Level: We welcome applicants at various experience levels, including those with less experience About Our Client A growing and dynamic accountancy firm with a dedicated and loyal client base. The Role We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team and manage a portfolio of clients. As part of a supportive and collaborative environment, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the firm while developing your skills further. Key Responsibilities:

• Managing 2-3 SME client portfolios, ensuring excellent service and strong client relationships.
• Preparing and reviewing:
• Annual accounts
• Corporation tax returns
• Self-assessment tax returns
• VAT returns
• Management accounts
• Offering proactive advice and identifying value-adding opportunities.
• Supporting junior colleagues and assisting with workflow management within the firm. Candidate Requirements Essential:
• Experience in an accountancy practice is essential, although we are open to considering less experienced candidates as well.
• Strong technical knowledge in accounts preparation and tax compliance.
• Ability to manage client relationships independently.
• Excellent organisational skills and a high attention to detail.
• A confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner.
• A strong team player with a collaborative approach. Desirable:
• ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (we will consider candidates at different experience levels).
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage. Personal Attributes: We're looking for someone who:
