Marketing Director South Europe
at Westcon-ComstorAbout the Role
The Director of Field Marketing leads a distributed, high‑performing Field Marketing team across multiple countries and regions, ensuring a unified European operating model that is tightly aligned to Sales priorities, vendor strategies, and our GTM BLUEPRINT. This role sets direction, standards, and investment guardrails; steers resource allocation and capability building; and ensures execution quality, compliance, and measurable commercial outcomes at scale. It operates with high autonomy and executive‑level accountability, embedding FUTURE READY ways of working (agility, tech fluency, data‑driven decisions) and our values of Ambition, Integrity, Accountability, and Partnership in day‑to‑day leadership and stakeholder engagement.
A core part of the mandate is to synchronize Field Marketing, EMEA Vendor Marketing, and Global (Corporate) Marketing: feeding country‑level insight into EMEA strategic vendor plans, leveraging corporate assets and brand guidance, and enabling local adaptation so execution is both consistent across Europe and relevant to local markets.
Your Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Stewardship
-
Lead all Field Marketing Executives (Levels 1-3) across the assigned multi‑country, and regional scope; set clear standards, rhythms, and expectations for performance, collaboration, and governance.
-
Build capability and ensure the team has strong coverage and readiness through structured coaching, onboarding, and continuity planning; provide first‑person mentorship to accelerate proficiency in Westcon‑Comstor processes, vendor frameworks, and tools.
-
Model executive presence and high‑trust collaboration with Sales, Vendor, Partner, Solutions, and Marketing stakeholders; remove blockers and drive aligned decisions quickly.
Strategy, Prioritization & Integrated Planning
-
Translate commercial strategy into a pan‑European field marketing plan with clear priorities, resource allocations, and success metrics across multiple countries and regions.
-
Align closely with EMEA Vendor Marketing and Global (Corporate) Marketing: contribute Field Marketing insight to EMEA strategic vendor plans, leverage corporate assets/brand guidance, and enable appropriate local adaptation.
-
Establish shared planning and operating rhythms across marketing pillars (e.g., alignment sessions, quarterly planning, attribution rules, dashboard integration, MDF governance, and EMEA‑wide touchpoints) to ensure campaign‑to‑revenue coherence with Sales priorities and vendor programs.
Execution Excellence & Commercial Impact
-
Ensure consistent delivery of quality across campaigns, digital demand, partner enablement, vendor launches, and multi‑vendor solution plays; require clear objectives, standardized processes, and measurable outcomes for every initiative.
-
Drive pipeline influence, partner engagement, and revenue impact; hold teams accountable for data‑driven optimization and timely reporting.
-
Integrate technical propositions with Sales Solutions and PSM/IPSM teams so solution storytelling is accurate and commercially relevant.
Governance, MDF Management & Compliance
-
Act as the single point of accountability for marketing governance, compliance, and audit within scope; safeguard brand, data, and financial integrity across all countries.
-
Oversee MDF planning and investment performance; ensure claims accuracy, proof‑of‑performance, and audit readiness; enforce consistent standards for vendor‑funded activity execution.
-
Maintain transparent budget stewardship and portfolio prioritization with Finance and Marketing Operations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
-
Orchestrate joined‑up GTM execution with Sales leaders, Strategic Named Account Executives, Vendor Sales Executives, Partner teams, and Solutions Architects to maximize commercial impact.
-
Re‑establish and maintain European‑wide marketing connection points that improve visibility, reduce duplication, and accelerate best‑practice scaling.
Continuous Improvement & Market Intelligence
-
Bring strong channel insight (trends, partner dynamics, vendor priorities, competitive moves, emerging tech) to inform investment choices and accelerate time‑to‑impact.
-
Advance digital‑first, analytics‑led ways of working; champion the adoption of automation and dashboards that connect Sales and Marketing outcomes.

Explicit Role Differentiation vs. Field Marketing Executives (IC Levels 1-3)
To avoid overlap with senior ICs who may also hold large multi‑country or complex commercial scopes, this Director role is clearly differentiated by:
-
People leadership & performance ownership for all Field Marketing Executives (Levels 1-3) across a multi‑country, multi‑regional footprint - including hiring, coaching, workload balancing, succession/continuity, and performance management. (ICs do not manage people.)
-
Portfolio and investment governance - sets priorities, allocates resources, approves MDF plans/claims, and holds audit accountability; ICs manage activity‑level execution within these guardrails.
-
Operating model stewardship - defines standards, planning rhythms, dashboards, attribution rules, and cross‑pillar collaboration (with EMEA Vendor Marketing and Global/Corporate Marketing); ICs plan and execute within the framework and feed market insight back into planning.
-
Executive‑level stakeholdering - accountable for senior alignment with VPs of Sales, vendor leadership, and cross‑functional heads to ensure campaign‑to‑revenue coherence; ICs manage day‑to‑day program planning, delivery and reporting.
