Part-Time Finance & Accounts Manager £40,000–£50,000 FTE, pro rata | 2–3 days per week | Hybrid Steadman Brown is a specialist technology recruitment business, and we're looking for an experienced Finance & Accounts Manager to join our internal team and take ownership of our day-to-day finance function. Founded in 2017, we're an established and growing SME specialising in recruitment across the Salesforce and HubSpot markets. We're looking for someone who has experience being the person responsible for keeping the finance function of a small business running day to day. This is a hands-on role. You'll personally manage the core finance activities – from invoicing and credit control through to Xero, payroll preparation, reconciliations and month-end – while providing the Directors with clear visibility of cash and financial performance. What You'll Own You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, including:

  • Raising and managing client invoices
  • Supplier bills, expenses and receipts
  • Credit control and actively chasing outstanding payments
  • Bank and account reconciliations
  • Xero management, coding and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Contractor timesheets, client billing and contractor payments
  • Payroll preparation, commissions and bonus calculations
  • Month-end processes and working with our external accountants
  • Maintaining visibility of VAT, corporation tax, payroll and other upcoming liabilities
  • Cash-flow management and forecasting
  • Producing straightforward monthly financial reporting for the Directors
  • Improving and documenting finance processes, controls and automation You'll ideally have:
  • Strong hands-on Xero experience
  • Experience managing sales and purchase ledgers
  • Credit control experience
  • Bank reconciliation experience
  • Payroll knowledge
  • Experience supporting or managing month-end
  • Experience maintaining cash-flow forecasts
  • Strong Excel skills
  • The ability to produce clear, useful management information
  • Confidence working directly with business owners and Directors
  • A proactive approach to identifying problems and improving processes Experience within recruitment, staffing, consultancy or another professional-services SME would be particularly useful, but isn't essential. The Role This is a genuine part-time position, likely around 2–3 days per week. It's not a full-time finance leadership role squeezed into fewer days. We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on and wants genuine ownership of a small company's finance function. We're flexible around how the hours are structured for the right person. We operate a hybrid working model and would like someone who can spend some of their time working with us in the office. Salary: £40,000–£50,000 FTE, pro rata depending on experience.
