QA and Compliance Manager
at Vault XOverview Vault X is one of the world's fastest-growing premium trading card game accessories brands. Sold worldwide via D2C, marketplaces, and through retail partners across North America and Europe. As we enter our most ambitious chapter of growth yet, we are hiring a Product Quality & Compliance Manager to own product quality and regulatory compliance across every market we sell in. You will define what "good" means for every product we make, prove it through accredited-lab testing, and hold real authority in our processes - including compliance sign-off on every purchase order we place. You'll work directly with our manufacturing partners in China and our third-party inspection and compliance agencies. Responsibilities
- Own QC standards across all product categories — AQL levels, inspection checklists, and defect classifications
- Maintain our golden sample library, and enforce production sign-off against it
- Run our pre-shipment inspection programme with third-party agencies — approving or rejecting every shipment
- Own the regulatory requirements map for every market we sell in, working with external agencies to keep it current as regulation evolves
- Work with our manufacturing partners to commission and source accredited-lab testing and own the test report library
- Own packaging compliance in every market — on-pack markings, warnings, environmental labelling, and EPR — including PPWR
- Run corrective action with suppliers when quality fails, and verify the fixes stick
- Hold the compliance sign-off on every purchase order
- Report quality performance monthly — returns, defects, and review sentiment by product Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) in product quality, compliance, or regulatory roles within consumer products
- Hands-on experience with Far East manufacturing QC — inspections, AQL sampling, and corrective action
- Working knowledge of EU/UK product compliance — GPSR, REACH, packaging regulation (including PPWR), and EPR
- Working knowledge of US product compliance — CPSIA, Prop 65, and state-level packaging and labelling requirements
- A systematic, documentation-first mindset — you build registers, matrices, and libraries that stay current
- Comfort in a fast-growing business where systems are still being built
- Nice-to-have: experience in toys, collectibles, or other categories with material and safety regulation; social/ethical audit experience (SMETA, BSCI)
- This role is the first in-house dedicated compliance resource. Perfect for a quality and compliance professional or product technologist who wants genuine ownership — building the systems that take a fast-growing brand to millions of units a year, safely and legally, in every market we sell.
