About the job

Lead complex transformation programmes with the autonomy to shape delivery, influence senior stakeholders and take ownership of the commercial outcome. A major global Microsoft partner is looking for a consulting-led Senior Project Manager to deliver ambitious business transformation projects. Combining the backing of an established international business with deep Microsoft expertise, this is an opportunity to take on substantial client engagements and help organisations turn technology investment into meaningful business change. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations sits at the heart of the role, with opportunities to lead connected initiatives across customer engagement, data, AI, automation and Azure. You will bring the judgement to connect these workstreams, manage their dependencies and keep delivery focused on the outcomes that matter to the client. The Opportunity You will own the delivery of complex client engagements, building trusted relationships with sponsors and leading multidisciplinary teams from mobilisation through to go-live, adoption and transition into support. Your remit will cover delivery strategy, stakeholder alignment, project financials, scope and change control. You will be trusted to make decisions, challenge assumptions and bring clarity when priorities compete. The work can span finance and operational transformation, wider business process change and the integration of Microsoft platforms across an organisation. Alongside Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, projects may involve Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement applications, Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, Azure and emerging Copilot and AI agent capabilities. You will work with specialists across these technologies, translating technical complexity into clear choices about business value, cost, risk and delivery. What you will lead: Consulting and client relationships

  • Build credibility with executive sponsors, business leaders and technology stakeholders, becoming a trusted delivery partner throughout the engagement.
  • Understand the business case, organisational context and measures of success, and use them to guide delivery decisions.
  • Lead steering committees and difficult conversations with clear recommendations, transparent reporting and a practical route forward.
  • Navigate competing priorities across functions, regions and delivery partners, securing decisions and maintaining accountability. Delivery and team leadership
  • Shape delivery approaches, governance, plans and resourcing around the scale and complexity of each engagement.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across functional consulting, architecture, engineering, integration, data, testing and business change.
  • Own milestones, dependencies, risks and recovery plans across the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure data migration, integration, testing, business readiness and cutover are planned together, with clear ownership and acceptance criteria.
  • Create an environment where teams raise issues early, resolve problems constructively and take pride in delivery. Commercial ownership and change control
  • Own project budgets, forecasts, resource plans and margin performance, with a clear view of actual costs and the cost to complete.
  • Manage delivery against statements of work, contractual commitments, assumptions, client obligations and acceptance milestones.
  • Establish disciplined change control, making the impact of scope decisions on fees, timelines, resources and outcomes visible.
  • Negotiate changes constructively with clients, protecting the relationship and the commercial health of the engagement.
  • Support proposals, estimates and mobilisation, ensuring commitments are achievable and the transition from sales into delivery is well managed. Business change and lasting value
  • Keep adoption, operational readiness and benefits in view throughout delivery.
  • Work with client leaders and change specialists to align communications, training, process ownership and new ways of working.
  • Bring sound delivery judgement to data and AI initiatives, ensuring use cases have clear value, appropriate governance and a credible path into operational use.
  • Recognise opportunities to improve the client's transformation roadmap and develop them with account and solution leaders.
  • Capture lessons and strengthen delivery practices across the consulting team. What you will bring You are an established project manager with a consulting mindset: commercially aware, confident with clients and comfortable taking responsibility for complex delivery. You will bring:
  • A strong track record of leading substantial ERP or business transformation projects within a consultancy, systems integrator or Microsoft partner.
  • Experience delivering Dynamics 365 F&O programmes, with an understanding of the business processes, dependencies and delivery risks involved.
  • Ownership of project commercials, including budgets, forecasting, resource utilisation and formal change control.
  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders, challenging constructively and resolving difficult delivery or commercial issues.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across client organisations, third parties and distributed delivery teams.
  • Practical understanding of the full implementation lifecycle, including discovery, design, build, migration, testing, cutover and stabilisation.
  • The ability to apply structured, agile or hybrid delivery methods according to the engagement.
  • Curiosity about how the wider Microsoft ecosystem can improve business performance, and the judgement to distinguish useful innovation from unnecessary complexity. Experience across customer engagement, Azure, data platforms, Power Platform or AI-enabled transformation would be valuable. You do not need to be a specialist in every technology; you do need to lead the people who are, understand the implications of their recommendations and help clients make informed decisions. Project management qualifications such as PMP, APM or PRINCE2 are welcome. Evidence of successful delivery, commercial judgement and client leadership carries the greatest weight. This opportunity will appeal to a project manager from a major consulting firm, systems integrator or established Microsoft partner who wants greater ownership, broader transformation exposure and the backing to deliver at scale. If you combine strong delivery discipline with commercial judgement and the ability to earn a client's trust, we would welcome a conversation. Additional Information
  • Salary: £75,000-£85,000 basic, plus benefits and a 10% bonus.
  • Working arrangements: Hybrid delivery with client travel as required.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
