Senior Broker - Marine

Senior Marine Insurance Broker | London (Hybrid) IDEX are currently partnered with one of the largest, independent and privately owned marine insurance brokers on a search for a Senior Broker. This role is a crucial piece of their expansion into London and will be largely responsible for leading the placement of a multitude of international exposures across Hull & Machinery, P&I, Cargo, War, and Marine Liabilities. With thousands of vessels served worldwide, this is a busy role, covering a multitude of territories, so a real chance for an experienced broker to step up into a role that'll help steer the direction of placement into the London and Lloyd's market. What you'll be doing

• Placing and negotiating marine insurance and reinsurance: Hull & Machinery, P&I, Cargo and other marine lines
• Building their network of insurers and placing channels in Lloyd's and the wider London market
• Looking after clients across shipping, marine, energy and commodity trading, and advising them properly rather than just renewing what they had
• Working with broking and business development colleagues in their international offices What you'll bring
• 10+ years in marine broking and/or underwriting, ideally in the London market
• Broad product knowledge across marine lines
• Relationships with senior decision-makers on the market side, the client side, or both
• A track record of getting good placement outcomes for clients
• Strong negotiation skills, plus the ability to work on your own and as part of an international team Why it's worth a conversation
