What you'll do: You will collaborate with a team of industry leading experts to shape the commercial direction of our unsecured loans portfolio. As the analytical engine behind our growth initiatives, you will own the analysis of returns and product performance, assessing where we make money, where we don't and where the next pound of receivables should come from. A key Commercial team member reporting to the Head of Loans, you will drive insight and change across the function, evaluating pricing, product and segment performance and turning findings into strategies that grow the book while improving customer outcomes. AI and large language models such as Claude are core to how we work. You will use them throughout your analysis to accelerate your work, scale your reporting and pressure test your thinking, while critically challenging AI outputs and the underlying data to arrive at the right answer. Key responsibilities and objectives:

• Own the commercial performance view of the loans portfolio, tracking revenue, net interest margin, delinquency, impairment and ROA by segment, product, price point and vintage and quantifying how credit performance flows through to profitability.
• Lead returns analysis on growth initiatives such as new price points, higher loan amounts and new products, sizing the opportunity, modelling the economics and tracking performance against the business case after launch.
• Deliver product analysis across the loans range, understanding how each product performs commercially across customer segments and recommending changes to design, pricing and positioning.
• Support portfolio strategy reviews, assessing the impact of pricing and product changes on both commercial outcomes and customer outcomes.
• Support the annual budget and reforecast cycles, using historic performance to shape the key inputs, including volumes, pricing, margin and loss assumptions and tracking actuals against them through the year.
• Identify and size growth opportunities across the customer lifecycle, including acquisition mix, retention and repeat lending.
• Collaborate with our Partnerships team to support and develop bespoke partnership strategies.
• Build and maintain commercial MI that gives senior stakeholders a reliable, current view of performance, using AI to automate and scale reporting.
• Stay up to date on market, pricing and product trends in near prime lending and identify opportunities to introduce innovative analysis techniques and AI tools to enhance team performance. What you need:
• 3-4 years of experience working in consumer lending in a commercial, pricing, portfolio management or credit function. Analytics experience in other industries will be considered if strong analytical capability and business acumen can be demonstrated.
• Deep proficiency in SQL for large-scale data extraction and manipulation; experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake or similar) is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency using Excel and other Microsoft software.
• The ability to construct a coherent analytical narrative from complex, multi-dimensional data and present it clearly to a non-technical audience.
• An understanding of how to use AI in combination with the above skill set to deliver timely and accurate results that the business can rely on.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and self-direction is expected.
• An aptitude for getting to the bottom of a particular problem, breaking it apart and understanding it, before designing and implementing a solution
• A proactive and collaborative approach and the ability to operate independently.
• Familiarity with FCA regulatory requirements, Consumer Duty, or IFRS 9 is a meaningful advantage. What's in it for you?
