I'm working on a 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 opportunity with an established financial services business that is investing heavily in its technology capability. This is a chance to 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱, 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘄𝗻 the engineering function. You'll have 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆, direct access to senior stakeholders and the freedom to influence technology, architecture, engineering standards, development and AI. And importantly, 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗟𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚. This is 𝗡𝗢𝗧 a Head of Engineering role where you spend your days in meetings managing managers. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗪𝗡

• Own the firm-wide 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱-𝘃𝘀-𝗯𝘂𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆
• Design, build and ship software yourself
• Shape the engineering roadmap and decide 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁, 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱
• Lead and technically coach development and scripting resources
• Develop junior engineers and raise the technical bar
• Own 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗖𝗜/𝗖𝗗 end-to-end
• Work closely with IT on production and technical governance
• Own relationships with key technology vendors
• Drive the 𝗣𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 & 𝗔𝗜 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆
• Introduce and raise engineering standards across the business 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡 I'm looking for someone who is 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. Someone who can walk into a business, understand what needs to change, make decisions and then 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁. Strong experience across: 𝗣𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 | 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 | 𝗖𝗜/𝗖𝗗 | 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱/𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀 | 𝗔𝗜 Experience within 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗘𝗧𝗙𝘀, 𝗘𝗧𝗖𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 would be particularly relevant.
