Job title: Database Administrator / DBA – PostgreSQL / MySQL Client: FinTech Salary: up to £90,000 + Bonus Location: London Skills: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Git The role : My client are a growing FinTech organisation looking to add a talented DBA to their team. You will take ownership of the extensive Database estate, coding day to day administration, reliability, design and support across a range of Database technologies. Responsibilities:

• Main point of contact for Database technologies including administration, monitoring, high availability, performance and reliability
• Database upgrades, patching and version migration
• Design and implementation of backup and restore procedures including relevant documentation
• Monitoring health, capacity, and performance, identifying bottlenecks
• Reviewing schema changes alongside developers
• Query optimisation, index design and access patterns
• Collaborating with developers on integrations
• Writing and optimising SQL queries for dashboards / reporting (Grafana etc.)
• Managing permissions and privileges Required experience:
• Hands on experience working as a DBA
• Strong knowledge of MySQL
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or QuestDB
• Backup and Restore strategies
• Query planning, indexing strategies, connection management, role management
• Able to write complex SQL queries for both production and reporting
• Integrating database queries with dashboards such as Grafana or other Observability tooling
• Version controlled / branching database systems (e.g. Dolt)
• Familiarity with Redis / Elastic stack highly desirable
• Comfortable with Linux environments and the command line
