Company Buyer (Construction Bias) Gateshead £36,000 to £40,000p/a + Benefits Full Time | Permanent We're working with an established construction business looking to strengthen its procurement team with the appointment of a Company Buyer who'll be working closely with the organisations Head of Purchasing. This is a fantastic opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys building supplier relationships, negotiating the best commercial outcomes and playing a key role in supporting project delivery. You'll be joining a busy and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and where your contribution will have a direct impact on operational success. The Role You'll take ownership of purchasing activities across a range of construction projects, ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently, competitively and delivered on time. Responsibilities will include:

• Sourcing and procuring construction materials and services.
• Obtaining and assessing supplier quotations.
• Building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial terms.
• Coordinating deliveries with operational and site teams.
• Monitoring supplier performance and resolving supply issues.
• Supporting cost control and procurement reporting activities.
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation. About You We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
• Previous experience in a Buying position.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
