ONE Stop - Assistant Buyer

About the role Assistant Buyer - Crisps, Snacks & Confectionery Looking for an exciting opportunity to help shape one of our most popular categories? As an Assistant Buyer, you'll support the Buying Manager to deliver category sales, profit and growth. Working closely with suppliers and colleagues across One Stop and the Tesco Group, you'll help manage category performance, support product and promotional plans, and deliver great products for our customers. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home You will be responsible for Key Responsibilities - Independently manage selected category areas from planning through to delivery

• Deliver sales, margin and profit targets for your category area.
• Analyse sales and performance data to identify opportunities for growth.
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships. - Supplier negotiations and joint business planning.
• Deliver range reviews and category changes on time and in full.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
• Category administration, including product setup, promotional activity, supplier claims and EPOS reporting.
• Support stock and working capital objectives.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and the wider Tesco Group to deliver business initiatives and product launches. Skills I need:
• Previous Buying or Category Management experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactive and self-motivated approach.
