Event Sales Executive

  • Target start: Mid November
  • London (hybrid, 2 days per week)
  • £30,000–£35,000 + commission + benefits Kioni Talent is working with a market-leading data, intelligence and events provider to hire a Event Sales Executive into their London team. This is an opportunity for someone early in their sales career to join an established business, take ownership of a subset of customers and sales activity, and develop towards an Account Management role over time. You don't need experience within their industry. They're much more interested in finding someone who's proactive, organised, good with people and knows that they want to build a career in sales. You'll receive plenty of support to learn the market, their customers and what you're selling. The role You'll be responsible for driving sales across a portfolio of industry events, working with both existing customers and new prospects. That will include:
  • Reaching out to existing and prospective customers through phone and email
  • Building relationships and understanding which events are relevant to them
  • Managing your own pipeline, follow-ups and sales activity
  • Re-engaging customers who have attended previous events
  • Identifying opportunities to increase customer spend
  • Generating new business and bringing new customers into the portfolio
  • Working closely with Account Managers when you identify larger commercial opportunities You'll be given ownership from an early stage, but with support from an experienced team around you. What they're looking for You don't need a specific industry background or a certain number of years' experience. Some previous exposure to sales, business development, recruitment or another target-driven environment would be useful, but they're primarily looking for someone with the right attitude and potential. That means someone who is:
  • Proactive and comfortable picking up the phone
  • Confident communicating and building rapport with new people
  • Organised and good at managing their own workload
  • Resilient and comfortable working towards targets
  • Personable, curious and willing to learn
  • Motivated to develop a long-term career in sales Previous events experience isn't required – you'll be supported to learn the industry and product once you join. Why this role There's a clear progression opportunity behind this hire. The intention is for you to develop your sales skills, build your own customer relationships and gradually take on larger commercial opportunities, with the potential to progress as you develop. You'll also have the opportunity to attend some of the events you're selling, including the potential for international travel. If you're early in your sales career and looking for somewhere you can learn, take ownership and progress, feel free to apply or get in touch.
