Semi Senior Accountant

Reed Practice is recruiting for a Semi Senior Accountant on behalf of a well-regarded accounting firm based in Reading.

This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing practice. The firm works with a wide range of clients, offering varied and hands-on experience across accounts preparation, tax, and client advisory work.

The Role

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will:

• Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Prepare VAT returns and management accounts
• Support with personal and corporate tax computations
• Liaise directly with clients, building strong working relationships
• Work closely with senior team members and partners to deliver high-quality service
• Begin to review junior staff work and support their development as you progress

About You

You are currently studying towards your ACA or ACCA qualification and:

• Have experience working in a UK accountancy practice
• Possess strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and tax basics
• Are confident using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
• Have excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment
• Are comfortable working in a hybrid setup, with flexibility between office and remote work
