• Role: Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker
• Location: Portsmouth
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
• Contract: Temporary (anticipated through to Christmas, although this may be subject to change)
• Positions Available: 2
• Daily Rate: £100 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are currently recruiting for two compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants / Support staff to join a highly regarded specialist SEN school in Portsmouth on a temporary basis.

You will provide essential care and support to pupils aged 4 to 19 years across a range of classrooms and settings throughout the school. Working alongside teaching and healthcare professionals, you'll help ensure students are safe, engaged and fully supported throughout their day.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
• Assisting with personal care routines
• Manual handling and moving & positioning where required
• Supporting students during mealtimes
• Oral and tube feeding support
• Encouraging communication, independence and participation
• Working flexibly across different age groups and departments within the school

About You

We are looking for individuals who are:

• Caring, patient and resilient
• Comfortable supporting children and young people with complex needs
• Experienced in personal care and manual handling, or willing to undertake training
• Reliable and available to work five days per week
• Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team

Desirable:

• Previous experience within an SEN school
• Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Care Assistant experience
• Experience supporting individuals with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism and physical disabilities
