Director - Identity Trust
IcebergAbout the Company A global financial services organisation with more than 50 years of history is continuing to invest in its cyber resilience and digital trust capabilities. The Identity Trust function sits within Cyber Resilience & Trust and has responsibility across workforce, customer, application, machine and emerging autonomous identities. The Role This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and leading the organisation's enterprise Identity Trust strategy. You'll have end-to-end ownership of how identity is used as a security control across the organisation, bringing together identity architecture, authentication, authorisation, governance, intelligence and threat detection. The remit goes beyond traditional IAM. You'll work across Technology, Architecture, Engineering, Cyber Defence and the wider business to establish a consistent approach to identity and trust across the enterprise. A key part of the role will be developing the organisation's approach to areas including:
- Non-human and machine identities
- AI agents and autonomous systems
- Identity threat detection and response
- Risk-based access and policy enforcement
- Identity intelligence and security analytics Alongside the strategic remit, you'll have operational accountability for critical identity services, making sure they remain resilient and scalable while the function evolves. What They're Looking For
- Significant experience leading enterprise identity, digital trust or a closely related cyber capability within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong technical understanding of modern authentication, authorisation and identity governance.
- Experience across identity threat detection, identity intelligence, machine/non-human identity and risk-based policy.
- The ability to set strategy and translate it into practical delivery.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders across Technology, Security and the wider business.
- Experience leading critical services through transformation, major incidents and competing investment priorities.
- An interest in emerging areas such as AI agents, autonomous systems and machine identities.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience building high-performing teams and working across organisational boundaries. Why Join This is an opportunity to shape identity at an enterprise level rather than simply run an existing IAM function. You'll have the scope to define how identity, trust and security evolve across a major financial services environment, with particular focus on areas such as machine identity, AI agents and identity-led cyber defence. The role combines strategic ownership with operational responsibility, giving you influence over both the direction of the function and the technology that supports it.
