Reed Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Southwark to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students with Special Educational Needs both in and out of the classroom.
• Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to help students engage with learning.
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence.
• Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual student needs.
• Support students' academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
• A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
• Experience within a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
