Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum + Study Support

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Semi Senior Accountant to join a growing and supportive accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification and looking to further develop their technical skills within a collaborative and professional environment.

Working closely with experienced accountants and client managers, you will gain exposure to a varied client portfolio and play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Support the preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
• Maintain accurate client records and working papers
• Use accounting software to complete assignments efficiently
• Liaise with clients regarding routine queries and information requests
• Assist senior team members with ad hoc accounting assignments
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 2 to 4 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and VAT returns
• Studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA (or equivalent)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Good communication and client-facing skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn
• Ambition to progress your career within a professional practice environment
