Marketing Coordinator
at Scrums.com UK Skilled Worker EmployerJoin Scrums.com, a software engineering orchestration platform combining AI, vetted engineering talent, and delivery, as it rebuilds its marketing function into an AI-first growth engine. Work directly alongside senior tech, digital, and AI leaders, with structured mentorship, real reviews, and access to their playbooks, exposure rarely available this early in a marketing career. Own a full channel end to end (paid ads, SEO/AEO, or email) with real budget, real experiments, and AI tooling from month one. Help build the company's authority in both traditional search and AI-generated answers, working at the frontier of Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) rather than reading about it after the fact. A clearly defined path toward Growth Specialist or Growth Lead exists, with advancement criteria set out in advance, on a fast-moving hybrid Johannesburg team measured on outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own campaign execution end to end within a specialist channel: build it, ship it, measure it, improve it.
- Grow the company's online authority through content, search visibility, backlinks, citations, and presence in AI-generated answers.
- Run experiments in a structured way: small tests, fast reads, quick kills, and hard scaling on winners.
- Coordinate the marketing calendar and delivery, including briefs, assets, approvals, deadlines, and handoffs with designers, writers, and freelancers.
- Report on performance in clear numbers: traffic, rankings, cost per lead, open and click rates, and pipeline contribution.
- Support demand generation and sales by keeping campaign data clean in HubSpot and ensuring leads reach sales with context attached.
- Use AI tools as standard practice for research, drafting, analysis, and automation.
Experience and education
- Around 3+ years of hands-on marketing experience
- Deep, hands-on skill in one of the following (not all three required): paid ads (Google Ads, Meta, or LinkedIn, with live budget experience), SEO/AEO (on-page, technical basics, content strategy, keyword and entity research), or email marketing (lifecycle and nurture campaigns, segmentation, deliverability, A/B testing).
- Based in Johannesburg and able to work a hybrid pattern from the office.
- Comfortable reading a dashboard and explaining what it means.
- Strong written English with sharp attention to detail.
- Self-directed, with a habit of chasing the answer before asking for it.
- Nice to have: B2B, SaaS, tech, or professional services marketing background; experience with HubSpot, GA4, Semrush, or Ahrefs; hands-on use of AI tools in a marketing workflow; basic HTML or CMS/landing page skills; a self-driven side project, blog, newsletter, or channel.
- No marketing degree required, shipped work and results matter more than formal qualifications.
