Financial Accountant
at Scrums.com UK Skilled Worker EmployerOwn the day to day accounting function across Scrums.com's group of entities in a broad, full function role spanning balance sheet integrity, monthly reporting, payroll, tax compliance and multi entity accounts payable and receivable. Work in an environment where modern tools, including AI, are part of daily practice, so the role is about working efficiently and accurately rather than getting bogged down in manual processes. Take real ownership of a multi entity finance function inside a fast moving business, with genuine scope to shape how the numbers get done. A strong fit for someone who wants breadth as well as depth: reporting, compliance, payroll and payments, all in one seat.

- Manage and maintain the balance sheet, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and manage the profit and loss statement, tracking performance against budget and forecast.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting and management accounts for internal stakeholders.
- Manage accounts payable across multiple entities, including processing and reconciling supplier invoices and payments.
- Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and credit control.
- Ensure tax compliance across all relevant jurisdictions and entities, including VAT, sales tax, income tax and other statutory filings.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, in line with relevant regulations.
- Load and process payments across banking platforms, with proper authorisation and controls.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all entities.
- Use AI tools and modern finance software to improve accuracy, efficiency and turnaround time within the finance function.
Experience and education
- Relevant accounting qualification (for example BCom Accounting, or working towards or holding a professional designation such as CIMA, ACCA or SAICA articles), or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a similar full function accounting role, ideally across multiple entities.
- Strong working knowledge of balance sheet management, P&L and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and tax compliance processes.
- Experience with bank reconciliations and payment processing or loading.
- Comfortable working with accounting software and general digital and AI based tools to streamline finance processes.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Able to work independently while collaborating with a hybrid team.
- Takes ownership of their own work without needing close supervision, and follows tasks through to completion.
- Keen to learn and grow, and operationally minded, interested in the bigger picture of how the business runs, not just the accounting function in isolation.
