You will translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements, align stakeholders across business and technology, and help shape practical AI-enabled use cases that deliver measurable value. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery to clarify business goals, scope, constraints, and success metrics for energy pricing and data initiatives.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document requirements using appropriate artefacts (e.g., user stories, process maps, data mappings, acceptance criteria).
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define pricing data needs, definitions, and governance expectations across oil, power, and gas contexts.
  • Collaborate with data/engineering teams to translate business requirements into implementable technical requirements and delivery plans.
  • Support AI/ML initiatives by shaping use cases, defining inputs/outputs, documenting assumptions, and aligning stakeholders on feasibility and value.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions, ensuring clear decisions, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with both business and technical audiences, translating technical detail into commercial impact and vice versa.
  • Demonstrate value quickly by delivering high-quality outputs early (e.g., clear requirements packs, aligned stakeholders, reduced ambiguity, accelerated delivery). Must-Have Qualifications
  • 3+ years' Business Analyst experience in the energy sector (oil, power, and/or gas).
  • Strong experience delivering pricing data projects (e.g., pricing data models, feeds, definitions, reporting/analytics enablement, data quality).
  • At least 1 year of experience on AI/ML-related projects (e.g., supporting model use cases, requirements, data readiness, stakeholder alignment).
  • Proven ability to establish credibility with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of producing clear, structured documentation and facilitating productive discussions. Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on data platforms, analytics, or modern data stacks.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts (definitions, lineage, quality controls, stewardship).
  • Experience in consulting environments or fast-moving client-facing delivery. What Success Looks Like
  • In the first days and weeks, you quickly build trust by demonstrating strong energy-domain knowledge and technical understanding.
  • Stakeholders align faster because requirements are crisp, decisions are documented, and ambiguity is reduced.
  • Delivery teams can execute efficiently because artefacts are complete, testable, and prioritized.
  • AI/ML work is grounded in practical, value-led use cases with clear data and acceptance expectations. Selection Criteria (How We Will Evaluate)
  • Energy pricing domain depth and ability to apply it to real delivery scenarios.
  • Quality of BA outputs (requirements clarity, structure, testability, and completeness).
  • Stakeholder management and workshop facilitation effectiveness.
  • Ability to translate between business objectives, pricing data needs, and technical implementation.
  • Practical AI/ML project experience and ability to define feasible, valuable use cases.
  • Pace to productivity and demonstrated ability to be valuable quickly in a hybrid London setting. Equal Opportunity Please get in touch with us on info@projectbrains.io
