Independent Marketing Partner
at VPHIndependent Marketing Partner — Val Publishing House Location: UK — Remote Contract: Self-employed / Independent Contractor Initial period: 3-month trial Compensation: 20% commission on qualifying net VPH royalty/revenue actually received About Val Publishing House Val Publishing House is an independent publishing and creative project built around books, music and the expanding world of Elyria. Today, our catalogue includes: 📚 9 published books 🎵 7 released music albums 🌍 One growing creative universe We have built the products. Now we are looking for the person who can help us build the audience. The Opportunity We are looking for an Independent Marketing Partner with energy, creativity and commercial instinct. This is not a traditional marketing position where you will receive a list of posts to publish every morning. We want someone who can look at Val Publishing House and Elyria, identify the opportunities, propose a strategy and — once the overall direction is agreed — take ownership of executing it. You will have considerable freedom to experiment, test ideas and discover what genuinely connects with readers and audiences. Your work could include social media strategy and content, book and music promotion, short-form content concepts, creator/reviewer outreach, community development, SEO and website recommendations, audience building, email/list development, campaign testing and performance analysis. But the ultimate objective is simple: Turn attention into readers, sales and a sustainable audience. The Challenge VPH is still at an early commercial stage. We are therefore not looking for someone whose marketing strategy depends on having a large advertising budget. One of the questions we will ask candidates is: “If your initial advertising budget were £0, what would you do?” We are particularly interested in marketers who understand organic social growth, content, communities, creators, experimentation and how to build an audience from the ground up. As VPH grows and we identify what converts, paid marketing may become part of the strategy — but it should support proven growth rather than substitute for it. Who We Are Looking For You may be an experienced freelancer, an early-career marketer, a graduate, a student building a serious portfolio, or someone who has developed strong marketing skills through your own projects. Formal qualifications are welcome, but evidence of initiative, creativity and results matters more. We would particularly like to hear from people who understand social media naturally, can create and test ideas independently, think commercially rather than focusing only on followers and views, communicate confidently in English, and are comfortable taking ownership without fixed hours or daily instructions. Experience with books, publishing, entertainment, music or creative brands is useful, but not essential. Working Relationship & Compensation This is a self-employed independent contractor opportunity, beginning with a 3-month trial period. Compensation is 20% of qualifying net Val Publishing House royalty/revenue actually received from sales covered by the arrangement. There is no salary attached to the role. If the initial trial is successful and both sides wish to continue, the independent partnership may continue beyond the first three months. The marketer will work independently, without fixed working hours, while VPH retains final approval over overall strategy, brand direction, intellectual property and publishing decisions. Interested? Before applying, take a look at Val Publishing House and the world of Elyria. Then tell us: What would you focus on during your first three months to build the audience and generate book sales? And perhaps even more importantly: 🔥 What would you do first if your advertising budget were £0? Val Publishing House Searching for a New Horizon
