Product Owner Tax Technology

: Product Owner – Tax Technology Location: Canary Wharf, London – Flex Hybrid (2 days per week in the office) KPMG UK offices | KPMG UK About the role Tax & Legal Technology supports Tax and Legal professionals through a modern portfolio of technology solutions, from systems that improve productivity and address business challenges to web portals that make client collaboration easier. The multidisciplinary team includes Product Owners, Business Analysts, software engineers, quality assurance specialists, cloud operations engineers and information technology service delivery professionals, with a strong focus on user needs and the application of emerging technologies. As a Product Owner, you will translate complex business and user needs into clear product outcomes. You will shape the vision and roadmap, focus development on the highest-value opportunities and create alignment between stakeholders and delivery teams. Your work will help improve productivity, strengthen the client experience and support the continued transformation of Tax services. Roles and responsibilities

• Maintain a clear product vision and roadmap that connect business goals, stakeholder priorities and user needs to measurable outcomes.
• Prioritise and maintain a development-ready backlog, balancing business value, user impact, feasibility and strategic alignment.
• Translate complex requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria that support efficient design, development and testing.
• Coordinate stakeholders, software engineering and quality assurance teams to agree scope, priorities, deliverables, dependencies and timelines.
• Guide product delivery across multiple agile teams, resolving ambiguity and communicating progress, decisions and risks clearly.
• Promote new products and features to increase adoption, realise benefits and improve return on investment.
• Manage product budgets and prepare evidence-based funding requests to support responsible investment decisions.
• Maintain product documentation and coach junior Product Owners and Business Analysts to strengthen consistent product practices. Experience and skills needed
• Evidence of owning technology products and leading teams through development and successful launch, including web applications or shared technology services.
• In depth technology product management experience demonstrated through product vision, roadmap development, backlog prioritisation, user research and requirements engineering.
• Experience of agile and scaled agile delivery across multiple Scrum teams or concurrent product initiatives.
• Ability to analyse complex business problems and turn them into clear, accurate and actionable requirements.
• Evidence of building alignment between technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience of integrating emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence capabilities, into products or services to improve business or user outcomes.
