Harmony Fire

Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an 'Outstanding Employer' by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger - and we're looking for A-players to help us get there.

We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.

We are now looking for a Senior Sprinkler Service Engineer to lead from the front on our most complex sprinkler installations and service contracts. Based out of the Midlands with a nationwide remit, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems - setting the bar on quality, safety and technical standards across the M&E service team and mentoring less experienced engineers along the way.

Working in accordance with BS 9251:2021 and applicable industry standards, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality life-safety systems to our clients. This is more than just a site role: it is about bringing the right energy, accountability and resilience to our mission of saving lives through fire and height safety.

  • Lead from the front on the most complex sprinkler installations, commissioning and service works, setting the technical bar for the wider engineering team.

  • Install, commission, test and maintain domestic and residential fire sprinkler systems in line with BS 9251:2021.

  • Carry out works across a variety of project types including residential and social housing, hospitals, schools, HMOs, care homes and student accommodation.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and project specifications, and confidently challenge designs where they don't reflect site reality.

  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant British Standards, industry codes of practice and client specifications.

  • Conduct system testing and commissioning, completing all associated documentation accurately and to audit standard.

  • Carry out fault-finding, servicing and remedial works on complex existing sprinkler installations.

  • Provide technical guidance, coaching and on-site support to apprentices, less experienced engineers and subcontractors - raising the standard across the team.

  • Act as a senior technical point of reference for the M&E service team, supporting service managers with quotes, scope queries and technical escalations.

  • Liaise professionally with site managers, main contractors and clients, representing Harmony at senior level on site.

  • Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork, including risk assessments and method statements.

  • Work safely at all times, adhering to company health & safety policies, site rules and relevant legislation.

  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota as required.

  • An A-player mindset - high standards, extreme ownership and the drive to do things properly, the first time.

  • Significant experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter or Engineer in residential or domestic settings, with a proven track record on complex installations.

  • Deep working knowledge of BS 9251:2021 (Fire Suppression Systems for Dwellings - Code of Practice) and related British Standards.

  • Experience working across multiple sectors, including residential / social housing, hospitals, schools and HMOs.

  • Experience of wet, dry and alternate sprinkler systems.

  • Confident leading on technical decisions and coaching less experienced engineers.

  • Excellent ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices on construction and occupied sites.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable representing Harmony with clients at senior level.

  • Self-directed and able to manage your own workload and that of supporting engineers effectively.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Nice to Have

  • RSA (or similar) Fire Sprinkler Installation Course.

  • IPAF, PASMA or working at height qualifications.

  • CSCS / JIB card.

  • First Aid certificate.

  • Previous mentoring, supervisory or team lead experience.

  • Experience contributing to service quotes, scope queries or technical escalations.

This is a chance to lead from the front on life-safety systems for one of the UK's fastest-growing fire safety specialists - setting the technical bar, mentoring the next generation of engineers, and seeing your installations protect real people in their homes. At Harmony, we ask a lot - and we give a lot back. The hours are real, the standards are high and the work is demanding, but for those who show up, deliver and go the extra mile, the rewards follow. A-players here enjoy a competitive salary, a company vehicle, private medical insurance, a Personal Development Plan with ongoing training and mentoring, unlimited holiday, a bonus scheme paying up to 50% of annual salary, enhanced maternity and paternity, catered lunch every day at the office (fresh fruit and Takeaway Friday included), a team social budget, cycle to work, an auto-enrolment pension, two company events a year and our Reward and Recognition scheme - including European mini-breaks for those who go above and beyond. It is a collaborative, high-energy environment focused on doing things the right way - technically, practically and safely - and none of it is a perk for showing up; it's what we share with the people pulling the business forward.
