Digital Marketing and Retail Apprentice
at TABLETOP DOMINIONTabletop Dominion is looking for a capable, enthusiastic apprentice who wants to build a career in digital marketing while playing a practical role in a specialist retail business. You will help grow our online reach, ecommerce sales and customer community while also supporting the everyday operation of our store.
What you'll do
- Plan, create, schedule and publish useful, on-brand content across relevant social channels.
- Support SEO, PPC, paid social, organic social, content marketing and email campaigns.
- Use Google Ads and relevant Google tools, including Analytics, Merchant Center and Search Console, to support
campaigns, product visibility and performance reporting.
- Monitor core commercial and marketing measures such as traffic, engagement, conversion, return on ad spend, revenue,
margin and average order value; explain what the numbers suggest and recommend next steps.
- Research and contact suitable influencers, creators, clubs and community partners; maintain professional outreach and
follow-up.
- Create simple graphics and campaign assets using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
- Capture basic product photography and short-form photo/video content, then complete straightforward editing, resizing,
captioning and preparation for web or social use.
- Develop confident, practical use of AI systems and large language models such as ChatGPT and Claude across marketing,
research, outreach, ecommerce, analysis, drafting and day-to-day workflow improvement.
- Explore how AI can improve the quality, consistency and scale of the company's outreach while preserving an authentic
brand voice and appropriate human judgement.
- Treat AI output as a working draft rather than an unquestioned source: verify facts, prices, product details, claims,
calculations, tone, copyright considerations and suitability before use or publication.
- Build transferable AI literacy as an important part of future professional development within marketing and the wider industry.
- Maintain accurate, attractive product listings, collections, pricing, images and promotional content on Shopify and related
website systems.
- Support onsite merchandising, landing pages, product launches, basic website updates and conversion improvements.
- Check product information carefully and help identify broken links, stock discrepancies or customer journey issues.
- Picking, packing and dispatching online orders is a core, regular responsibility of this role - not an occasional extra. You must
work accurately, protect products appropriately, select and apply the correct paperwork or labels, meet collection cut-offs and
raise stock, address or order issues promptly.
- Welcome customers, understand their needs and provide friendly, knowledgeable product guidance and appropriate
recommendations.
- Operate the till/POS, process cash and card payments accurately, and handle routine customer enquiries, returns or issues
in line with company policy.
- Answer telephone, email and online enquiries where required and maintain professional communication throughout.
- Build trust with newcomers, established players, parents, collectors and event participants while helping create an inclusive
store environment.
- Handle the buying and trading-in of cards with customers, following all company authorisation, identification, record-keeping
and transaction processes.
- Assess card condition consistently and use approved company systems, market data and processes to research pricing and
valuation; escalate unusual, high-value or uncertain items.
- Explain offers and transactions clearly and professionally without making unauthorised commitments.
- Sort, catalogue, organise, sleeve, protect and store cards accurately, maintaining security and traceability.
- Support singles inventory, stock updates, presentation and fulfilment while treating customer property and high-value stock
with care.

Things to consider
A genuine, existing interest in and participation in TCGs, TTRPGs and/or tabletop gaming. This is an essential requirement of the role, not simply desirable.
A clear interest in developing a career in digital marketing and ecommerce through an apprenticeship.
A strong willingness to learn and make responsible, commercially useful use of AI systems as a core part of the role.
Confidence using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva to create or adapt straightforward visual assets.
Comfort with basic product photography, content capture and simple photo/video editing.
Familiarity with social media and an understanding of how professional brand content differs from personal posting.
Strong written and spoken communication, with careful spelling, tone and attention to detail.
Customer-focused, approachable and confident discussing hobby products with a varied audience.
Reliable, punctual and able to follow processes accurately, particularly when handling cash, customer orders, trading cards, stock and security.
Basic numeracy and confidence working with prices, discounts, quantities and simple commercial or marketing measures.
Able to prioritise work, use quieter periods productively and complete routine responsibilities without continuous supervision.
Able to recognise when an issue is outside their knowledge or authority and escalate it appropriately rather than guessing.
Willing to contribute to all parts of this hybrid role, including retail sales, online order dispatch, events, organised play, receiving deliveries, replenishing stock, stock counts and general store upkeep.
Comfortable completing shared cleaning duties, including tables, floors, bins, toilets, customer facilities and general shop presentation.
Willing to learn and follow opening, closing, till, cash-handling, security, incident and emergency procedures.
Willing and able to progress towards working as the sole employee in the store for periods of time, but only after receiving appropriate training and being assessed as competent, confident and authorised.
Comfortable helping to host events, welcoming players and supporting evening or weekend organised-play activities.
Available to work according to the needs of the rota, which may include some evenings and weekends.
Understands that this is not a desk-only marketing position and is comfortable moving between marketing, ecommerce, customer service, dispatch and practical shop duties during the same shift.
