About the employer
- WH Scott Engineers was founded in Belfast in 1897 by William Hill Scott and his son, manufacturing boilers and pressure vessels. It was, from the beginning, a business built around equipment that fails dangerously if it is made or maintained badly.
- The modern chapter began in 2010, when a management buy-out led by, current CEO, Patrick Doyle and this kick started a deliberate, capability-led expansion through strategic acquisitions.
- By 2026 the WH Scott Group had grown to nine businesses, each with its own name, history and reputation. That was a sign of successful expansion, In 2026 we reviewed the entire portfolio and rationalised it into three market-facing brands. Each has a clear specialism and a clear customer. Each is backed by the scale, resources and technical support of the wider Group.
