Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. This is an excellent opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship while developing the skills needed to become a registered pharmacy technician.

What you'll do

Working alongside pharmacists and experienced pharmacy staff, you will help provide safe, accurate and effective pharmacy services to patients while completing your apprenticeship training.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and dispensing of medicines under supervision.
• Receive, check and process prescriptions.
• Order, receive and manage pharmaceutical stock.
• Label, assemble and supply medicines accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Answer telephone and face-to-face enquiries appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure patient confidentiality.
• Follow pharmacy procedures, health and safety requirements, and legal regulations.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Attend off-the-job training and complete coursework towards the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship.

Training

Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning.

Apprentices must be able to commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours.

After becoming a qualified, GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician, you can continue to build your experience and progress into senior or specialist roles within pharmacy.

There are opportunities to develop expertise in areas such as dispensary management, medicines optimisation, hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy or clinical services.

With further experience and leadership development, Pharmacy Technicians can also progress into team leader, pharmacy manager or other management positions. For those interested in the wider healthcare and pharmaceutical sector, the skills gained as a Pharmacy Technician can also provide opportunities to move into roles such as pharmaceutical sales representative or other commercial healthcare positions.

• Essential: GCSE, Maths and English (grade (grade 4-9))
• Essential: NVQ2, Pharmacy services assistant (level 2) (grade Pass)

• Hours: 36 hours a week. Working week: Alternating Rota

1. Monday - Friday; Saturday off.

2. One day off in the week, Work on Saturday.
