Life and Income Protection Insurance Apprenticeship Programme

Our Life & Income Protection team helps people protect their financial future when life doesn't go to plan.

As an apprentice, you'll support customers through their insurance applications, learn how protection products work, and help families make important decisions that provide peace of mind and financial security.

What you'll do

• Learn the foundation of insurance and customer service through hands-on experience and structured training
• Work alongside experienced advisors to understand how customer requirements are assessed and how appropriate insurance protection is recommended based on their individual needs
• Build rapport with our customers and help understand their background and medical history
• Keep accurate and up-to-date client records across multiple systems
• Deliver exceptional customer service and learn how to manage telephone conversations with professionalism and empathy
• Learn how to work with and build relationships with underwriters at insurance companies and support our advisors with chasing any missing information

• Insurance Practitioner Level 3

After the apprenticeship

Our apprentices join Howden on permanent contracts from day one. After successfully completing the 18-month programme, you'll transition out of the apprenticeship and continue developing your skills, expertise and career within your chosen area of the business.

• Course: Insurance practitioner (level 3), Legal, finance and accounting
• Apprenticeship level: Advanced (level 3)
• Training provider: WISER ACADEMY LIMITED
• Expected duration: 1 Year 6 Months
• Hours: 37.5 hours a week. Working week: Monday to Friday

9:00am to 5:30pm

• Start date: 13 September 2027
• Positions available: 1
• Wage: £23,000 a year
