Bank Pharmacist

Pinehill Hospital, Hitchin

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at Pinehill Hospital.

In this role you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise.

This role is key to delivering high-quality medicines optimisation, ensuring patients receive the best possible care throughout their treatment journey, from pre-assessment through to discharge.

You'll work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues, providing expert advice, supporting governance, and contributing to the continuous improvement of pharmacy services.

Duties include:

  • Support medicines optimisation through medication review, reconciliation, and prescription review
  • Provide expert medicines advice to patients, carers, consultants, and staff
  • Assist in the safe procurement, management, and control of medication stock
  • Support the introduction and evaluation of new medicines and therapies
  • Contribute to clinical governance, including incident reporting, audits, and learning outcomes
  • Support pharmacy operations including dispensing, supply, and procurement processes
  • Assist in the training and development of colleagues across the hospital

What you 'll bring with you:

  • Hospital pharmacy experience (preferred)
  • Registered as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Clinical diploma or equivalent experience (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Whilst hospital pharmacy experience is preferred, applications will be considered from community-based and primary care pharmacists.

You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist to be eligible to apply for this post.

What is a Bank contract:

A Bank contract at Ramsay Health Care UK is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospitals. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work. Our Bank staff play a crucial role in maintaining service levels during peak times or staff shortages, ensuring that patient care remains uninterrupted. This pharmacists role would offer regular Saturday morning shifts plus ad hoc cover according to demand and availability. Full training will be given.

In return, we offer

  • Competitive hourly rates plus enhancements
  • Free DBS
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • Free parking and subsidised staff restaurant (subject to site facilities)
  • Free uniform
  • Access to Blue Light Card
