Senior Practitioner - Improvement, AI and Automation
at C2C GroupRead this if… …you're an improvement practitioner who has actually made processes better – and has started using AI and automation to do it – and you want a role that does three things at once: teaches the next generation on our Level 4 AI & Automation and Level 5 Improvement Specialist apprenticeships, puts those skills to work for us and our clients, and looks after a group of our C2C Partnership customers. If you've ever thought “I'd love to apply this in lots of organisations, not just one”, and you enjoy developing people as much as fixing things, this is the seat we built for you. About C2C Group C2C Group (Clarity 2 Confidence) is a consultancy and training provider and the Strategic Compliance Partnership for growing UK SMEs. We bring HR, Health & Safety, ISO / Management Systems and Talent Development together as one practitioner-led system – so our clients don't have to juggle three or four providers. We're industry-current practitioners, not template factories. We give real business advice – not the textbook answer, not the computer-says-no. Improvement, AI and automation are a growing part of what we do, for our clients and through our apprenticeships. Why this role exists Before we automate something, should we be doing it at all? Before we bring in an AI tool, do we understand the process, the data it will touch and the people who will use it? Our clients come to us with slow, manual, error-prone processes – and, increasingly, AI tools nobody is sure how to use safely. Our apprentices bring the same problems from their own organisations. We need a senior practitioner who can solve those problems for real, teach others to solve them, and make sure our Partnership customers keep getting value from us. You'll report to our Head of Workforce Development. The three modes This role asks you to work in three modes. People who struggle in seats like this are usually strong in one or two and avoid the rest. Educator is the heart of the role, and where most of your time will go. Mode 1 – The educator Taking a Level 4 apprentice from “I've played with ChatGPT” to a working, governed automation in their workplace. Coaching a Level 5 apprentice through a live project where the data says one thing and the stakeholders say another. The progress review that asks “what evidence informed that decision?” You're growing the improvement and automation people their employers will rely on next. Mode 2 – The doer Mapping a client's process end to end before anyone mentions automation. Running the workshop that finds the real root cause, not the loudest one. Building the automation or AI assistant that takes hours out of someone's week – and the guidance that means people use it safely. Doing the same for C2C, because if we sell improvement, our own processes have to be the best example of it. Mode 3 – The account lead Looking after a group of C2C Partnership customers. Regular check-ins to make sure they use what they pay for. Spotting when a customer has outgrown their package, or when an improvement project, automation or apprentice would help – and having that conversation. Contributing to proposals. Being visible on LinkedIn about what you see in practice. Only doers fix brilliant things but never pass the skill on. Only educators drift from practice and end up teaching from slides – and apprentices can tell. Those who avoid the commercial conversation become the lovely practitioner whose customers quietly don't renew. We need all three. You don't need to be equally strong in all of them – for many, account lead will be the stretch, and we'll support you. But you do need to want all three. If one sounds like work you'd rather avoid, this probably isn't your seat. What you'll own Education – Level 4 and Level 5 apprentices
- Your own caseload on the Level 4 AI & Automation Practitioner and Level 5 Improvement Specialist standards.
- Teaching, coaching, progress reviews and preparing learners for end-point assessment.
- Working with our Head of Workforce Development to build and improve both programmes – turning the standards into sessions and work-based projects that build real capability and strong evidence against the knowledge, skills and behaviours.
- Keeping learner records, progress and evidence to the standard Ofsted and our employers expect. Practice – improvement, AI & automation
- Delivering client work: process mapping, root-cause analysis, Lean and continuous improvement, workflow automation and practical AI adoption.
- Leading the improvement and automation of C2C's own processes.
- Making sure AI is introduced safely – data protection, governance, clear use policies and proper human checks.
- Bringing what you see in practice back into our programmes. Account management – C2C Partnership customers
- Named lead for a portfolio of customers on our Protect and Progress packages.
- Regular reviews so customers get real value – the foundation of retention and renewal.
- Spotting when a customer is ready to move from Protect to Progress, or needs more – improvement or automation projects, consultancy across our other pillars, or apprenticeships – and turning that into paid work.
- Contributing to proposals and converting interest into work.
- An active LinkedIn presence – content, comments and real engagement. We're not asking you to cold-call. We're asking you to be the trusted person customers stay with, grow with and recommend. What you'll bring
- Real experience leading workplace improvement – process mapping, root-cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma or similar – with results you can point to.
- Hands-on experience of workflow automation and practical AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot), and a grounded view of the risks.
- A recognised improvement qualification (such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above) or equivalent experience.
- Experience developing people – coaching, training, mentoring or apprenticeship delivery.
- Comfort in a commercial conversation, and following it through to work.
- Plain-English communication that makes technical subjects useful, not intimidating.
- Organised, self-managing and comfortable working remotely. Bonus marks for: apprenticeship tutor or assessor experience or a teaching qualification (or willingness to gain one), experience on the Level 4 or Level 5 standards, account management or consultancy experience, data analysis or Power BI, ISO / management systems exposure, and an active LinkedIn presence. You don't need to arrive knowing everything We'd be slightly suspicious if you said you did. You might already work in apprenticeship delivery. Or you might work in continuous improvement, operations, digital change, automation or consultancy and have found that developing people is one of the bits you enjoy most. What matters is that you've actually improved things in the workplace. The good projects, the difficult ones, and ideally a few where the plan went out of the window and you had to work out what to do next. You'll probably enjoy working with us if you:
- Naturally ask “why are we doing it that way?”
- Care about what AI and automation can change in organisations – not just because it's the hot topic.
- Enjoy developing people and can challenge without simply telling someone they're wrong.
- Like building customer relationships and are comfortable when a conversation turns commercial.
- Are happy to research what you don't know.
- Like autonomy and can manage your own workload. What fully remote means here This is a fully remote, UK-based role. Our programmes are built for national remote delivery – guided learning, live online sessions, workplace application and reflective practice. But fully remote doesn't mean disappearing for the occasional Teams call. We're a small team who talk, share ideas, challenge each other and work things through together. You'll have autonomy and trust, with clear responsibility for your learners, your customers and the quality of what we deliver. The package
- £50,000–£55,000 depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time, 37.5 hours per week, fully remote, UK-based
- 22 days' basic annual leave
- Simplyhealth health scheme
- Pension
- Microsoft 365 stack and the tools and templates to do the job well
- Continuous CPD – we expect you to stay current and we resource you to do it
- Support to gain tutor or assessor qualifications if needed How to apply Send your CV and a short note (no more than one page) to careers@c2cgroup.co.uk Your note should cover: An improvement or automation you personally led: what you changed, the result, and what you'd do differently next time. A time you helped someone else develop a skill: what you did, and how you knew it had worked. Which of the three modes (educator / doer / account lead) is your strongest, which is your stretch, and how you'd develop the stretch in your first 12 months. Safeguarding question: During an online progress review, a 17-year-old apprentice tells you something that makes you worried about their safety. What would you do, step by step? Question 3 matters most to us. Honest self-disclosure gets you further than polish. One last thing If you want a traditional tutor role where everything is already written, or a consultancy role where someone else looks after the customer, this probably isn't it.
