ABOUT HENI HENI works with leading contemporary artists to produce fine-art print editions. Every work is photographed, printed, mounted, framed and packed in house at our production site in South East London, and we make and send out tens of thousands of pieces each year. The standard is museum quality; the volume is industrial. THE ROLE We are looking for a hands-on Head of Production to take ownership of the whole making process, from photography and printing through mounting on aluminium, paper and board, in-house framing and packing, to the point each piece is handed to our warehouse and shipping teams. This is not a strategy role. We want someone who is on the floor every day, sees problems early, fixes them, and makes the whole process run faster and more reliably without compromising finish. We are a flat organisation: there is no formal team reporting to this role, but you will work alongside skilled printers, mounters, framers and packers, and lead through example and credibility. You will partner closely with our Head of Warehouse and our Head of Logistics & Shipping. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Run the floor. Oversee day-to-day production across every stage, keeping tabs on what is being made, where it is, and what is holding it up.
  • Make it efficient. Find and remove bottlenecks, improve workflows and layouts, and get more out of existing equipment and people.
  • Protect the standard. Set and hold the quality bar at every stage so that nothing leaves production that is less than perfect.
  • Handle the spikes. Plan and flex capacity for large release peaks, including bringing in and organising temporary help without losing quality.
  • Track every piece. Introduce practical tracking so every edition can be followed from print to packed box.
  • Join up the chain. Work hand in hand with the Heads of Warehouse and Logistics & Shipping to keep handovers smooth and the pipeline moving.
  • Keep it running. Look after machinery, materials and consumables, working with suppliers where needed, and keep the workshop safe and well run. ABOUT YOU
  • A substantial, proven track record of running hands-on production in a making environment.
  • Someone who gets things made: practical, decisive, and happiest solving problems on the floor rather than in meetings.
  • Experience combining high-quality finish with volume. Art-world experience is not required; strong backgrounds include exhibition and set fabrication, bespoke joinery or furniture, large-format print and signage, luxury packaging, and framing or print labs.
  • Able to lead without formal authority, earning the respect of skilled craftspeople and working as a genuine peer to other heads of department.
  • Organised and numerate, with a sensible approach to tracking, scheduling and stock, without over-engineering it.
  • A strong eye for detail and pride in the finished object. WHY JOIN You will have real ownership of a unique production operation, working on editions with some of the most significant artists of our time, in a business that moves quickly and values people who make things happen.
