Head of Data Platforms Engineering. Fintech. 12 Months rolling contract. £800/ Day outside IR35. Central London Hybrid. My client is looking for a head of Data Platforms Engineering - someone with strong leadership, structured thinking and a clear track record of execution. Evidence of delivering organisational change and tangible outcomes, alongside the ability to bring existing teams through a transition is key for this role. You will Lead the implementation of my clients new approach to data platforms and analytics engineering, working closely with their senior and staff engineers. The priority is to move from a heavily control-based process to a more agile, empowered function: clear responsibilities and decision rights, greater ownership of approvals by staff engineers, and effective testing and release practices that allow them to move faster and learn from mistakes. You will be responsible for turning my clients platform strategy and agreed working approach into practical delivery. They need an experienced functional leader with technical credibility who has successfully set up or transformed an engineering function. Leadership and the ability to empower the team matter more than hands-on technical expertise. My clients core stack is Snowflake, Omni and Databricks, with Tableau and Alteryx being phased out.
