Cofounder and Investor
at Natural Food Processing LimitedCompany Description Natural Food Processing Limited is a food and agri‑tech start-up developing natural, healthy food ingredients from plants through a unique, innovative extraction process. The company is raising capital to build a commercial pilot plant in Lincolnshire, UK, with an initial focus on producing inulin, a prebiotic soluble fiber from chicory root, for use in baked goods, snack bars, dairy, and pet foods. The business is working with UK growers to establish industrial chicory crops and is expanding into plant-based protein extraction from peas and plant waste such as rapeseed meal and brewers spent yeast. Its intellectual property lies in the extraction process and the carbonation and precipitation approach, enabling low-capex, modular equipment that supports a distributed manufacturing model near growers. This model delivers cost and sustainability benefits while giving farmers greater flexibility in crop choices and rotations, and has already attracted strong interest from growers. Role Description This is a part-time remote role, preferably in the Midlands or East of England. The role involves shaping and executing the company's strategic vision, supporting fundraising activities, and contributing capital as an investor. Day-to-day responsibilities include building relationships with distributors and customers; overseeing commercial development; and guiding product-market fit for inulin and future plant protein products. The Co-Founder & Investor will collaborate closely with the Founder on business planning, financial modeling, and go-to-market strategies, while supporting operations as the pilot plant and distributed facilities are developed. This position also includes representing the company to external stakeholders, refining the value proposition, and helping drive sustainable growth in the food and agri-tech sector. Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate market opportunities, financial models, unit economics, and operational performance.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with investors, partners, and internal teams.
- Proven sales skills to develop commercial relationships, secure supply and offtake agreements, and drive early revenue generation.
- Food marketing experience to shape messaging around natural ingredients and sustainability, and support go-to-market campaigns.
- Research capabilities to understand industry trends, regulatory frameworks, customer needs, and emerging technologies in food and agri-tech.
- Experience with start-up environments, fundraising, and investor relations
- Background in entrepreneurship, food ingredients, agriculture, or related sectors is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site, collaborate closely with a small multidisciplinary team, and contribute both strategic input and hands-on support.
