Head of Finance Shared Services Location: Leicester (Hybrid) Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + Benefits The Opportunity A high-growth, multi-site business is seeking an experienced Head of Finance Shared Services to lead and develop its transactional finance function. This is a critical leadership role with responsibility for driving operational excellence across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Treasury, Billing, Cash Management and Process Improvement. Leading a sizeable shared services team, you will ensure robust financial controls, efficient processes, strong stakeholder engagement and excellent customer service standards across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising finance operations, embedding best practice and supporting future growth. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, motivate and develop the Finance Shared Services function.
• Manage team leaders across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Treasury and Billing.
• Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence.
• Coach and develop team members, supporting succession planning and career progression. Accounts Payable
• Oversee the end-to-end purchase-to-pay process.
• Ensure supplier invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Develop strong supplier relationships and resolve escalated issues.
• Drive automation and process efficiencies within AP operations. Accounts Receivable, Billing & Credit Control
• Manage the order-to-cash process, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
• Optimise cash collection performance and debtor management.
• Reduce aged debt and improve working capital performance.
• Establish effective credit policies and controls to minimise risk exposure. Treasury & Cash Management
• Oversee daily cash management and liquidity planning.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and reporting.
• Maintain relationships with banking partners.
• Monitor treasury controls and ensure regulatory compliance. Controls, Governance & Risk
• Ensure strong financial controls are maintained across all transactional finance processes.
• Support external and internal audit requirements.
• Drive compliance with company policies, financial regulations and governance frameworks.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, SLAs and performance metrics. Process Improvement & Transformation
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and service delivery.
• Lead finance transformation and system enhancement projects.
• Utilise technology and automation to streamline workflows.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to improve business processes and customer experience. Candidate Profile Essential
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading a finance shared services or transactional finance function.
• Strong background across AP, AR, Credit Control, Treasury and Billing.
• Experience managing sizeable teams within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance and risk management.
• Demonstrable success delivering process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong systems and ERP experience.
