Board Treasurer

Organization Description The Clan Hannay Society, founded in 1960, is dedicated to fostering global fellowship and friendship among individuals bearing or descended from the family names Hannay, Hannah, Hanna, or Hanney. The Society promotes shared heritage, community engagement, and cultural connection for members worldwide. It organizes activities and communications that strengthen ties within the extended Hannay family. The organization is volunteer-driven and relies on committed board members and volunteers to support its mission and long-term sustainability.

• Role Description The Board Treasurer is a volunteer, remote role responsible for overseeing the financial health and integrity of the Clan Hannay Society.
• More information - Prior to 2023 the Treasurer was always a member of the Clan Council and acted on a voluntary basis. When no replacement was found, Saint & Co, a local firm of chartered accountants, were appointed in a fee-based capacity, with the Clan Chief acting as liaison.  However, it is important that there should be a Clan member, ideally based in the UK, acting as in house Treasurer who would become familiar with the Society's affairs. Book keeping would continue to be done by Saint & Co, and the treasurer would have the following principal responsibilities:

1. Oversight of the Society's finances and liaison with Saint & Co 
2. Reporting to the Clan Council and AGM
