Site Operative

Experience We're looking for a Site Operative to join our team at Ebsford Environmental. Do you love working outdoors and prefer a hands-on role where no two days are the same? Our operations teams work throughout the UK, delivering projects in a range of locations and conditions. We create new habitats, improve aquatic environments, manage invasive plants, support biodiversity and deliver blue-green infrastructure that protects wildlife and enhances the public spaces our communities rely on. Established in 2011, we have grown our teams with talented people who are dedicated to bringing our projects to life. Could you be the person we are looking for? This is a practical, outdoor role working on a wide variety of environmental projects across the UK. You'll be part of an experienced team, using a range of tools and equipment while building practical skills within the environmental industry. Previous site experience is useful but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate. We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing a good job and is willing to learn. You'll need to be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons, working as part of a team, travelling and occasionally staying away from home when projects require it. Previous experience in vegetation clearance, landscaping, forestry, grounds maintenance, construction or environmental work would be ideal. Brushcutter, chainsaw or herbicide spraying tickets are a bonus, and we'll support you to gain further qualifications as you develop. What we need from you… Your day-to-day work could include:

• Vegetation and site clearance using brushcutters, strimmers, chainsaws and other equipment
• Clearing and maintaining attenuation ponds, drainage areas and other sites
• Helping our teams tackle invasive plants such as Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam
• Assisting Site Managers with invasive species excavation and screening projects
• Carrying out herbicide treatments and vegetation management
• Setting up sites and helping keep working areas safe, tidy and organised

• This is a full-time, permanent position with 28 days annual leave, pro rata (inc. Bank Holidays).

• Hourly pay for travel outside normal working hours
• Hourly overtime pay for time worked on site outside normal working hours
• Additional payments for overnight stays
• Payment for Sunday travel, where required Typical salary, including additional payments: £28,836.00. Ebsford Environmental works nationally and working away from home is a large part of this role. Accommodation will therefore be provided (as a double room minimum per person). Subsistence for meals shall be reimbursed via expenses, where a float will be offered.
